They are different

A nice suprise from the park

A nice little surprise brought back from the park. Daddy took the littles on a trip to the park this weekend for a while. My birthday/Christmas sewing is beginning to pile up on me. And daddy was gracious to give me some alone time. (Insert super big thank you to my wonderful husband here) I thought about cleaning the floors, or doing dishes (I like to pretend that I actually do dishes, insert another thank you here) but instead I began quilting a baby quilt for Elaina that I have been working on for a while, like two whole years, goodness! It is almost done so I’ll share after I get the binding on, hopefully that will not take another two years. I was wishing this could make it under the tree this year so she could use it before she moves into a big girl bed. Time is flying even faster now, every day it seems she is growing out of babyhood.

Here is our weekend from a soon-to-be four year old boy’s perspective. Who has discovered a love for his mama’s point and shoot. Who asks many times a day if we can play ‘camera’. Who photos I fall in love with. Who’s photos remind his mama that he is still a little boy, and to look more carefully from his view of the world. To slow down and live now.

This was from our last beach trip with the sun, as the weather as significantly turned into fall here. I can see us still visiting, only with our jackets too. It has been raining, finally! Horary for fall and the beach.

This weekend, the children and I hung the Eeboo alphabet wall cards that I have had for over a year! Talk about procrastination, yikes! I am pretty okay with the way it came out, the lines are not spaced evenly, and the cards a heavy so it sags a tad. Hey, at least they are up right? right? (repeat to self) It was easy to have the children help as they loved looking at the cards when I was placing the line on the wall, and they helped with hanging them up.

I used twill tape and thumb tacks for the line and regular clothes pins to hang the cards. After we were finished, Landon said a few sweet words about it that made it all worth it. All in all I call this a successful project.

At Knott’s Berry Farm! We all had a blast! This was a closed park night we go to every year for our work. This was the first year we brought the kids; they were so well behaved and had so much fun. Looks like Disneyland should be fun to conquer soon…

Really, 24… I think it is a little underestimated myself. The day was great, when I got home from work I was surprised with this cute banner. And man do I have a wonderful husband. Who treated me to dinner with my three most favorite people. We shared a sunday after dinner and when we went home I was surprised again with a cake! (come on, what’s a birthday without a little sugar?) It really was a wonderful day… and my loves, they treated me with a sleepless night, with three hours of sleep, here I am at work… but seriously, where does the time go? It might be a little cliché, but time defiantly passes way faster the older you get. I cannot believe Summer is almost over!

Lots of gardening, baking, and naping going on around these parts…

Well, before the move, the last thing I made was the very cute and easy apron for the kids. The pattern is from Meg at Sew Liberated.

The first art that was made after the move was some labels for the trash cans, naturally. We needed labels so that company (and ourselves) could tell the difference between the three of these. Now the trash cans are sporting some art from the kids and we can all put the recycling where it belongs.
